A final hello to you all from Zimbabwe

Who could believe it. Five and a half months gone and I am preparing to return to Canada. I fly out on Wednesday at 1pm, to Johannesburg, then up to London and on to Vancouver and Comox. I arrive on Thursday, not sure of flight and time but will get that to you tomorrow as myticket is at home and I have to look it up.

Had a great birthday party for my friend here who turned 21. Big event in their life here. You get a "key to adulthood". People started arriving at 1pm, all were there by 6pm for drinks, braii, birthday cake, champagne, etc.

Then the music and dancing. We went till 6am. I am getting too old for this!!! These people know how to party!!! Had to go downtown two extra times for more beer and cold drinks. Thank god they have stores open all night here.

Inflation continues to be crazy. The price of a bottle of Coke just jumped from 70 zim dollars to 300!!! The empty bottle is now worth 200zim (from 50) and the crate that holds 24 drinks went from 1500 to 4000.
