Dawn to Dawn Society .....working to solve the homeless problem in the Comox Valley

In the fall of 2006, Tom Grant, President, and the board  decided to undertake a community needs analysis to help put a focus on our up coming projects and funding plans. A committee was formed  to look at community needs and at the conclusion late 2006, it was clear Homelessness was a key issue in the valley.

This was not a new issue and many other local organizations were active with this problem. Comox Rotary to make this issue a priority an established a committee to investigate how Rotary could make a difference. The result was a commitment to provide $30,000 in seed money over 2 years to assist with the start up of a new community non profit organization that would work with other local groups in providing  solutions to the Valley's homeless. The result was the creation of the Dawn to Dawn Society, who has been active in creating solution to homeless and creating housing. To read more, click her to visit the Dawn to Dawn site.
