Official Rules and Regulations of Comox Rotary's Ducky 500 Race
2011
1. A maximum of 6,000 Ducky 500 tickets will be sold. Ticket
purchasers must 19 year of age or more, and a resident of
British Columbia.
2. Ducks will released on the Puntledge River at approximately
1:00 pm, on July 1, 2011. The finish line is directly up
stream from the 5th St bridge, at Lewis Park. Average time to
finish line is 15-30 minutes.
3. All ducks shall remain the property of the Comox Rotary.
4. Once the ducks are released, they are on their own. No
attempt to free or interfere with any duck is permitted. Comox
Valley Search and Rescue will be following the ducks down river
and will free and collect stuck ducks.
5. Each duck will be numbered and labeled relating to the number
on each Ducky 500 ticket. The person's name that appears on the
ticket stub corresponding to the ducks in order of finish will
be awarded prizes. A list of prizes and winners will be posted
at the event, as well as on this site, or can be obtained by
contacting Comox Rotary, Box 1252, Comox BC. V9M 7Z8, or by

6. Comox Rotary reserve the right, as its sole option to
substitute prizes of comparable value. Some prizes have a cash
equivalent option only if indicated.
7. Ducks may be purchased from any Comox Rotarian, or at
participating business as listed. ( see Sales Locations)
8. Members of the Organizing committee, including anyone
responsible for the organization and management of the race
is not permitted to purchase tickets.
9. Winning Ducks will be selected by the Race Marshall, his
decision is final.
10. By purchasing a ticket, purchasers release the Comox Rotary
Club and its officers,
directors and staff, and other related entities from any and all
liability with respect to prizes.
11. By entering, winners consent to use of name, address and
likeness for advertising, promotion and publicity purposes
without additional compensation. No substitutions, cash
equivalent prizes, transfer or exchange of prizes will be
provided in lieu of prizes. Organizers reserve the right to
substitute if advertised prizes become unavailable.
12. This event is subject to BC Lottery Corporation Rules,
Gaming License # 33714
13. Odds of winning depend on total number of Ducky 500 tickets
sold. A maximum of 6,000 ducks will be launched . Organizers
reserve the right to cancel the Duck race or change any element
thereof, with or without notice, at any time, for any reason.
Should the Duck Race be cancelled at any time for any reason,
organizers reserve the right to select winners in a random
drawing among entries received.
14. All decisions of the organizing committee and race Marshall are final and binding on all
matters relating to Duck Race and awarding of prizes. By
entering, entrants agree to be bound by official rules, release
Comox Rotary and the organizing committee, its agents and respective parent companies,
subsidiaries and affiliates and their respective officers,
directors, employees and agents from any all liability, loss or
damage arising out of their participation in the Duck Race or
with respect to the awarding, receipt, possession, use and/or
misuse of any prize.
15. All decisions and interpretations of rules and regulations
will be made by the Race Marshall and the judgment is final. The
number on the front of the ticket is the tracking number
that relates to your entries. A maximum of 6,000 randomly numbered ducks,
corresponding to sold ticket numbers, will
be released at the race start. Unsold tickets numbers will not
be released.
